Five Tests to Determine Proper Behavior
“The VIPER Model”
Does this behavior add value to my family and society?
Is this behavior congruent with what defines me?
If this behavior were made public, would I be pleased?
Does this behavior build me up and improve me?
Can I repeat this behavior over and over and still prosper?

Take the VIPER test. Apply it to social behavior, health behavior, marriage behavior, anything! You must get 5 out of 5 yes's for it to be the best for you. A combination of neutrals and yes's involves some compromise - you determine if it's worth it. Any no's mean that you do not want to participate in this behavior. Do not rationalize. Don't get bit by a VIPER! Remember that proper behavior may come at a price - licensed engineers are obligated to protect the safety of the community first and foremost. Always act honorably, with integrity, and help others every opportunity you get. |
