Commitment to Honor - Regardless of the price, sacrifice, inconvenience - if there's something to be done, and it is honorable to do it (and dishonorable not to do it) then my commitment is to fill the gap and complete the task at hand. I will not "look the other way" when there is a need.
Commitment to Intellectual Honesty - Live a "data driven" approach to issues and people, be it in business, ministry, academic, or political arenas. If a person or organization with whom I am associated drops the ball my commitment is to face it, confront it, and correct it to the best of my ability. I will not defend deviant, unethical, unprofessional, or incompetent behavior or decisions regardless of the personal cost. Before taking on a long-term commitment, I will study the situation and size it up with honesty and integrity.
Commitment to Growth - My passion is to grow personally and professionally, and to take an active part in seeing other grow as well. I am committed to lifelong learning - be it through books, tapes, discs, seminars, or mentors. Likewise I am committed to assisting others grow through direct input and personal example. As much as in me is, I will seek to excel through work, application, and learning. Be in in engineering, family, or ministry, I will not cut corners but will gladly pay the price to grow.
Commitment to Family - I am committed to my family. If I win at work, win in the ministry, win with my friends, and lose at home - I have lost. I will devote quality and quantity time with my wife, children, and extended family, keeping other noble and needful activities in balance. I will invest in those activities that provide the greatest return.
Commitment to Ministry - Whatever my hands find to do in ministry, that's what I'll do, be it in prison, jail, missions, drama, or church - through active participation and/or financial support. I am committed to preaching, teaching, mentoring, equipping, counseling, giving, serving, admonishing, correcting, and blessing those within and without the Christian community in the principles of godliness.
Commitment to Leadership - Whatever arena I am in - ministry, academics, industry, politics - I will be a leader. I will provide direction and encouragement and lighten the load of others. Weekly I will study leadership, management, administration, organizational dynamics, and people skills to best lead whatever organization I have the privilege of leading. I will approach leadership with a servant's attitude - ready to serve others to see them reach their fullest potential.
Commitment to Health - My commitment is to regularly exercise my body and mind; to feed both well and appropriately, to stress and strain those areas needed to remain sharp, healthy, and fit. My attitude will be positive, my disposition will be trusting, my outlook will be bright. I'll invest in those areas needed to stay healthy.
