WSR Family Services
Team Meeting
PFC Offices, November 18, 2003
9pm-10pm
Attending: GVT, Bob J., John B., Karon C., Michael M., Shari and her husband (I forgot his name and didn't write it down… sorry)
Goal: To identify the go-forward plan for the WSR Family Services.
Agenda:
· Review the Central Team's assessment of Bob's email of Nov. 14.
· Understand Central's vision and desires for ongoing prison ministry.
· Review options and time frames.
Options:
· Remain as-is. Central assumes all leadership for the WSR Family Services. Requires a male leader.
· Existing PFC team (Gray, Greaves, Clines) merge with Central. PFC team leads services until TBD when Central takes it back over.
· Cascade and Central merge. Cascade (Burkholder) leads services until TBD when Central takes it back over.
· Central merges with either PFC Team or Cascade and serves in support role permanently.
Decisions:
· WSR Family Services to be Adult-focused. No children's ministry component.
· Services to be on a Thursday evening.
· Services cancelled throughout the remainder of 2003.
· A seasoned male prison leader will be required to be a part of the Central Team. PFC responsible to supply this person.
· Michael McConnell of Central to be trained as a group leader, this will take a few months. Bob J. and GVT to take an active role in this training.
Action Items:
· Contact existing PFC team to explore their participating in the Family Services. (Bob - DONE;)
· Determine if someone on Cascade team could be the male leader. (John - DONE; Dave Harmsen would be available)
· Contact Darin Goff to advise that services be postponed for now. No December service. January to-be-determined. (Bob - left phone message on 11/20/03)
· Determine if new direction of the WSR services still fits with the Central vision. (Karon and Central team).
· Ensure that posters are being set up to advertise the family services when they resume. (John confirmed posters are being set up - DONE)
