Statement of Faith
Robert F. Jordan
1. The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is 100% the Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all Doctrinal Truths.
2. The Doctrine of the Trinity or Tri-unity is that in one God there are three distinct persons, the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. They are all of the same substance, and are co-equal and co-eternal.
3. Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Holy Trinity. On earth he was 100% God and 100% man. He was the only person ever to live a sinless life.
4. God the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity. He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ and convicts of sin, of righteousness and of judgment and calls men to the Savior. His presence in the Christian is the assurance of God to bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ.
5. Jesus Christ was conceived by God the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Holy Trinity) in the Virgin Mary's womb. He is called the Son of God because he was conceived by God the Holy Spirit.
6. A person is saved by grace (which is undeserved and unearned) through faith in Jesus Christ and His death, burial and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not as a result of good works or any human efforts.
7. The blood that Jesus Christ shed on the Cross of Calvary was sinless and 100% sufficient to forgive man of all sins. Jesus allowed Himself to be punished for the sins we had committed, enabling all mankind to be free from the penalty of sin (which is death - separation eternally from God).
8. Mankind was created good and upright. By willful choice and ignoring God's instructions man chose to do that which was wrong and evil. As a result, all mankind fell from innocence and goodness and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.
9. Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body three days after his death on the cross. One day all believers in Christ will also be physically resurrected in their glorified bodies to their eternal reward in Heaven with God.
10. Heaven is the eternal dwelling place of all believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Concerning Hell, after living one life on earth, the wicked will be judged by God and sent to Hell where they will be eternally, consciously, tormented with the Devil and Fallen Angels.
11. The enemy of every man and the kingdom of God is Satan, a created being. He is a spirit being, real and personal, and the ruler of a vast hierarchy of demonic spirit beings. Satan and demons are neither omniscient nor omnipresent. Satan and his hosts are defeated and awaiting final judgment in the lake of fire. They are beyond redemption and their fate is sealed. They can possess the unsaved, and oppress the saved. Their chief weapon is deception.
12. Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the Scriptures.
13. The New Testament church of Jesus Christ is a local body of believers observing the two ordinances (water baptism and communion), evangelizing the world, worshipping God, and growing to be conformed to the life of Christ. Any person truly saved is a part of the "universal church." Salvation is not found in a church, but in Jesus Christ.
