Service Roles and Responsibilities
India 2009
Team: Bob Jordan, Don Szolomayer, Dennis Wilson, Mark Youngs
Typical Service:
Arrive at prison, meet the OC (officer in charge).
Exchange greetings, introduce teams, give gifts.
Go inside the prison.
Native team provides worship, music, will do some introductions.
USA team takes over the service (under the guiding of the Holy Ghost)
(1) Emcee - introduces PFC and gives a quick background, greetings from America, introduces the team, exhorts the congregation, introduces the person to give a testimony. (4 - 6 minutes). This is NOT preaching!
(2) Testimony - share a testimony (5 - 7 minutes). This is NOT preaching!
(1) Emcee - another exhortation, introduces the person who will share a short sermon (2 - 3 minutes).
(3) Short Sermon - no notes, one or two scriptures, storytelling sermonette, no altar call (7 - 10 minutes).
(1) Emcee - another exhortation, introduce the person who will share the long sermon (2 - 3 minutes).
(4) Long Sermon - no notes, able to develop a story, first the natural then the spiritual, strong, enthusiastic. (15 - 25 minutes).
(2) Salvation Altar Call - immediately follows the Long Sermon, very brief recap or applicable scripture from the Long Sermon, prayer for salvation and call those who received Christ forward if possible. This is NOT preaching. (2 minutes then bow heads!) Have those who came forward return to where they were seated. (The others on the team move throughout the crowd laying on hands and praying in the Holy Ghost.) (10 minutes)
(3) Healing Altar Call - immediately follows the Salvation Altar Call, call for those hurt, in pain, needing a healing. Call down the Holy Ghost to move and confirm the Word with signs following. Have those wanting prayer to come forward. (2 minutes then call forward). When they are all forward then pronounce the healing prayer. (The others on the team move throughout the crowd laying on hands and praying in the Holy Ghost.) (10 minutes)
(1) Emcee - Close the service, speak of the gifts PFC brought. Exhort the congregation. Turn it over to the National leader. (2 - 3 minutes)

The Emcee is not the preacher. He is also not the one giving the testimony.
The testimony is not to be preached.
The short sermon does not do the altar call. He is not giving a testimony.
The long sermon is not a testimony or exhortation - it is preaching.
The altar call is not to be preached.
The healing prayer is not to be preached.
