Assignment: INDIA
November 1 - November 13, 2009

India
This Fall Prisoners For Christ Outreach Ministries American missionaries left the United States for a short term missions trip to the prisons of Hyderabad and New Delhi. This mission, as are all of our International campaigns, is an extension of Christian compassion, combining encouragement, teaching and practical helps to both inmate and local ministry.
Our key scriptures for this campaign are Romans 15:21-22 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation: 21 But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
These verses were given to International Missionary-Evangelist Alan Barrentine in the early morning hours of January 24, 2009 after a season of prayer. How appropriate these verses are! India is only 2% Christian (third largest faith system in India), with the majority of the population Hindu (80%), Muslim (13%). Other faiths are Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism. For so very much of India, Christ has not been named, and we are building a new work.

All missionaries on this team participated in the work of raising support. Tax-deductible donations for the mission to India can made directly to Prisoners For Christ, PO Box 1530, Woodinville, WA 98072-1530. Donations can also be made on-line by clicking here, and using the pull down menu to select the name of the person you wish to assist. I prayed for each of my donors, by name, on this and all International missions trips. It greatly strengths me as I prayed for each person and recalled our friendship and interactions over the years. Remembering all of them pleased me greatly. I am confident that God will bless them in a very special way.
