Rwanda-Burundi-Democratic Republic of the Congo Missionary Team
October 1 - 17, 2008
Prisoners For Christ Outreach Ministries is dedicated to taking the gospel to the jails, prisons, and juvenile institutions of Washington State, the United States, and to developing countries around the world. PFC International ministries was founded five years ago in response to an invitation by a Russian ministry for help. Since then Greg Von Tobel, President of PFC, and Alan Barrentine, Director of PFC International Ministries, have traveled the world establishing international offices in many, many countries. As the vision expanded, and as more countries asked us for help (there are 24 other countries we have never visited in queue), it became necessary to train new team leaders. Our model is to minister with a foreign national leader and his team for three years, skip a year, then come back after that. This trip to Rwanda-Burundi-DR Congo is the fourth trip PFC has taken here, and the first time Greg or Alan have not been on the team. As new international group leaders are trained and equipped, PFC will be able to answer the call to the other 24 countries looking forward to us coming to them. In 2008 PFC has increased all the more its outreaches to developing countries. What a blessing to see the hand of God in all of this! This is the LORD's doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. (Psalm 118:23)
Bob Jordan is married to Leslie (29 years) and they have eight children, some in college and the rest homeschooled. Bob is a licensed professional engineer and is VP of R&D for a design and manufacturing organization. He has been active in jail and prison ministry for 30 years; presently he is on the board of directors of Prisoners For Christ Outreach Ministries and ministers monthly at the Washington Correction Center for Men and the Snohomish County Jail. He is guest minister at a number of jails and prisons in Washington annually. Bob and his family have attended Cedar Park Church in Bothell for 15 years. Bob is a veteran of two PFC international missions trips, one to India (2007) and the other to Rwanda-Burundi-DR Congo (2006). This year he is privileged to lead an international missions team to Rwanda-Burundi-DR Congo. [I have added a comment below each team member's biography...]
Kevin
Jones is a former Fire Lieutenant/Paramedic from Silverdale, Washington.
He and his
wife of 16 years, Dawn have owned and operated a safety training company called
“CPR Training
Center” since
1991.
Both Dawn and Kevin have been active with PFC for many years and both have been
on numerous international
mission trips since 2006. Kevin recently
completed his training as an International Group Leader and led his first group
to Uganda in June 2008. Kevin and Dawn are long-time members of
Shoreline Community Church and serve there in various capacities. This
will be his eighth short term trip and his seventh to Africa. “I am excited to
be able to serve the people of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi in God’s work and to be
part of such a great team.”
[Kevin (pronounced Kee-vin) trained me as a group
leader during the 2007 India mission. Kevin will be co-leader on this
campaign. His ministry expertise, wisdom, and counsel will be much, much
appreciated before and during the trip!]
Dave Jordan is married to his
beloved wife Luesa and they are blessed with one son. Nick is in the third
grade
and the apple of his father’s eye. Dave is a machinist with thirty years
of experience both in aerospace manufacturing and medical device manufacturing.
Currently he works for an Eastside medical company as a Prototype Machinist.
His association with prison ministry dates back to the late seventies. Dave was a team member of
the 2007 and 2008 Prisoners For Christ Eastern
Washington 3-day summer missionary campaigns. Dave is a long-standing congregational member of
Brier
Community Church and served on the stewardship and budget committees. He is in
discipleship training this year for a potential appointment as an Elder of his
church. Dave has also been committed for the past five years to serving on
Eastside Four Square Church’s automotive ministry team. He is humbled to be
invited to join this team. This will be his first international mission trip.
[My brother Dave and I are very close to each other. Dave is the driver for the
Eastern Washington annual PFC trip and he speaks and shares in that venue. It is
a blessing to see God working in my brother Dave's life!]
Eric Hoort

years, after they met during an overseas study program in London, England. Eric
grew up in Lansing, Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University and

Calvary Chapel West Seattle and serves as a mentor for men in the Genesis
Program at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. As a volunteer for Prisoners For
Christ, Eric currently ministers weekly at the King County Jail and monthly at
the Washington State Corrections Center in Shelton, Washington. As a "newbie",
Eric is honored and humbled to be part of his first international mission trip
to Rwanda-Burundi-DR Congo. [I met Eric this past year
and as a new Christian he's a prime example of someone getting in the ministry
saddle right away. His enthusiasm is infectious and I'm very excited about Eric
being on this campaign!]
